This kadapa Girls Hostel project is a part of larger
initiatives under Telugu People Foundation which was established in 2005 and registered in New Jersey as a charitable organization.
Our 501(c)(3) status is pending approval so for now we will not be able to issue tax deduction receipts
for your donation. We request your indulgence on the matter.
Organization Purpose
Telugu People Foundation is established to provide relief and alleviate
circumstances of "Extreme Poverty" as defined by the World Health Organization as a family with income of less than
$2.00 a day. The areas of focus are education to children with full annual scholarships, microfinance initiatives and one-off
projects like this Kadapa Girls Hostel and the Kinnera Health Clinics in Kammam district, Andhra Pradesh.
The education scholarships are funded and administered through Vonumu International in Maryland, and the health clinics
field visits are organized by Kinnera foundation. TP Foundation is striving to be an umbrella organization supporting
the efforts of small NGOs who are doing ground level work in the field.
TP Foundation is building a "Thousand
Lights Fund" - an endowment fund of $5 MM in order to pursue development activites described above using the income only
from the said endowment fund. Once the fund is fully formed we expect an annual income of about $300,000 which will
be split into five parts. While one part will be used to grow the endowment fund itself to counter inflation, the remaining
four parts will be spent on education, microfinance, health & Hygiene and traditional crafts and arts areas. Our
expectation to build this fund is to be able to find 1000 individuals, families or groups who would consider a $5000
life-time donation for this perpetual fund.
We look forward to your continued involvement in these efforts
of ours.
